The court provided various educational programs to its judges throughout 2020-2021. These programs covered a variety of topics.

Objective

Each session dealt with topics relevant to federally appointed judges to enable them to improve their skills and knowledge.

Summary

  • New Judges' Program: The program is designed to have experienced judges share their expertise with new judges. The program covered topics relating to child and adult protection, settlement conferencing, spousal support, property, child support, the Divorce Act, judicial conduct and ethics, parenting issues.
  • HRDV Presentation: Upcoming Safety Initiative; High Risk for Domestic Violence Case Coordination Protocol: The Lunch and Learn session covered various assessments, Unified Family Court model rollout, official languages, Children and Family Services Act process reform, liaison committees in districts and security.
