This program focused on providing participants with specific information on substantive and procedural issues with respect to wills and estate law.

Objectives

The objectives of this program were threefold: to enhance understanding of emerging will and estate issues; to provide a better understanding of the substantive law including substitute decision making, trusts and family law claims; and to provide skills in the management and supervision of executors.

Summary

This program was devoted entirely to issues of will and estate law, including related family law matters.   Faculty members included senior judges and legal academics. Session topics included: substitute decision making of property and of the person; interpretation and rectification of wills, assets passing outside the estate, trusts, the court’s supervision of executors, family law claims and void conditions in a will.
