Family Law Committee – Upcoming Legislative Changes

A presentation was provided to the justices on amendments to the Divorce Act and Alberta Family Property Act. 

The presentation went over summary charts comparing the prior sections with the new sections. The justices also received a presentation on French-language rights under these pieces of legislation, information on Francophones in Alberta, and information and tips on the court’s ability to handle bilingual or French matters under the Divorce Act.
