The Alberta Court of Appeal provides mentorship and training on various topics to recently appointed judges as well as senior court judges.

Objective

The objective of this program is to offer training and mentorship to help judges familiarize themselves with the Alberta Court of Appeal.

Summary

The Alberta Court of Appeal provided mentorship and training for five recently-appointed judges as well as senior court judges. This included informal discussion groups among senior and new judges, shadowing in court, review of procedures and protocols, as well as a tour and introduction to the Registry staff and procedures. This programming encompassed lunch and learn sessions, court attendance and informal meetings and discussion groups.
