The objective of this program was to help recently appointed judges develop effective strategies and strong practical skills in family law matters.
Summary
Led by judicial leaders from courts across Canada, legal experts and interdisciplinary academics drawn from psychology and social work, the seminar employed interactive lectures, small group and plenary discussions to explore the following issues: case management and settlement skills, decision-making in complex parenting situations, financial matters such as interpreting financial statements and dealing with child and spousal support, as well as emerging trends in child protection matters.
