This program focused on ethical issues for judges.

Objectives

The objective of this course was to review practical situations judges face in and outside of the court room and to discuss participants ethical obligations in the era of social media.

Summary

Invited members of the Canadian Judicial Council Independence Committee led participants through an interactive session focusing on ethical issues in four main areas: (i) Conference Attendance; (ii) Candor and Communication; (iii) Social Media; and (iv) Settlement Conferences and Case Management.
