This two-day online seminar touched on a variety of legal and practical topics relevant to the work of the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta.

Objective

The objectives of the seminar were to improve participants awareness of current issues facing the Court and to improve their substantive skills and further their knowledge on a variety of topics.  

Summary

Led by experienced judges, legal academics, and other practitioners, through a mix of lectures and panel discussions, interactive activities, and small group discussion in virtual breakout groups, the two-day online seminar explored: judicial ethics; commercial law issues; French language rights in Alberta; language interpreters in court proceedings; and practical strategies for managing litigants with mental health challenges.
