The Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan delivered two “Lunch & Learn” type of sessions virtually for all the judges of the Court. The Lunch & Learns were designed to bring in guest speakers to deliver presentations on a variety of topics.
Objectives
The objective of the Lunch & Learns was to broaden the perspective and information base of the members of the Court with respect to the operation of the justice system.
Summary
The topics for the Lunch & Learns included the following:
- A seminar on new family law legislation including updates on The Children’s Law Act, 2020 and the amendments to the Divorce Act, as well as an overview of the changes to the Queen’s Bench Rules in the area of family law
- A session with an elder and residential school survivor to commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
