Media Advisory - Request to hold hearing on preliminary arguments in camera - Inquiry into the conduct of the Honourable Gérard Dugré, j.s.c.

Please be advised that the Inquiry Committee mandated to look into the conduct of the Honourable Gérard Dugré, j.s.c. has received a request that the hearing on preliminary arguments scheduled for July 7 and 8, 2020 in Montreal be held in camera. 
 
The preliminary arguments raised are requests for (1) the discontinuation of the investigation and, in the alternative, partial striking off of allegations, (2) the recusal of the members of the Inquiry Committees, (3) the splitting of the investigations (alternative plea), (4) the suspension of the investigations (alternative plea) and (5) relating to evidence (alternative plea).
 
Any person wishing to make representations on this request must do so in writing no later than 5 p.m. on June 22, 2020 at the following address: info@cjc-ccm.ca. Counsel of record will have until June 26, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. to respond if they deem it necessary.
