Canadian Judicial Council concludes its review of a complaint against Justice Wedge

Ottawa, 29 January 2016 – The Canadian Judicial Council reviewed a complaint against the Honourable Catherine Wedge of the Supreme Court of British Columbia. The complaint was made on behalf of the Lake Babine Nation’s Hereditary Chiefs.

The complaint concerned the case of Robinson v. Furlong (2015 BCSC 1690). After considering all the issues raised, the complaint was dismissed on the basis that it did not raise any issue of judicial conduct and therefore did not warrant consideration by the Canadian Judicial Council.

A copy of the Council’s letter in the matter is available on the Council’s website www.cjc-ccm.gc.ca.
